A week or so ago, while trying with no luck to get Flash player for a dual core 64bit Linux box, I said to myself, “Self? Why doesn't Adobe release the source for the Flash player?” Well, they must have been listening. See http://www.regdeveloper.co.uk/2006/11/07/adobe_flash_firefox/

See what a little competition and threat to market share will do?

cheers,

gary

UI design should be egoless; if you succumb to the temptation to show off, you’re probably doing it wrong. (from ESR)

I'm sorry but I think that there is no other point to this post than Gary wanting to let everyone know he has a a nice new box with a AMD? dual core 64bit processor.

Mines still being constructed on my wish list, but keep swapping componants in and out as prices drop.

Basing things around a AMD

Basing things around a AMD dual core 64bit 4200 on a solid Gigabyte skt 939 mainboard with dual 250GB sata baracudas as a mirrored raid pair couple gigs of ram, not sure about graphics other than pci-e

Always been loyal to AMD for some reason never keen on Intel, but it sounds as though AMD are struggling against Intels dual core offerings hense the price drops and me hanging on Smile

Alas, if only. No, it was a box I was working on for someone else. It's a Dell, with 'Intel Inside' It has Fedora Core 5, reinforcing my negative attitude towards the Red Hat type distros.
