Just poking around in IE7 and noting how bad it *still* is, and I found this on MSDN:
http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2006/02/02/523679.aspx

from a microsoft developer:

Answering a couple common questions:

- :before and :after will sadly not make it into IE7. "

I just can't believe that they a giant, powerful company like microsoft can't impliment a standard. Now we are going to have to support IE5+6 quirks AND IE7 quirks while implimenting for all the other standards-compliant browsers. It just makes me mad.

Look on the bright side. If it weren't for IE and IEs to come, CSSCreator, css-discuss, et al would be mighty lonely places. Wink
