outline-width

Sets the width of an outline around an element. When using thick width outlines look at using margins as well to stop the outline covering other elements.

outline

Sets the width, style and color of one to four edges of an outline around an element.
Outlines don't take up space in the box model they just sit above the element just beyond the borders. Outlines aren't restricthed to rectangels and can follow the contours of a unjustified paragraph. Values for color style and width are the same as for borders.
